In particular, it is a holy ground representing the Shingon sect of esoteric Buddhism, with a history dating back twelve hundred years.

Designed by architects Kentaro Takeguchi and Asako Yamamoto of Kyoto-based firm Alphaville, the property features a central corridor flanked by two wooden colonnades, behind which are private dormitory spaces.
